I am sorry to ask.... but why the heck do you want these  You drive a diesel, not a sports car

To be fair, just because its a diesel doesn't make it slow.

My car is far from being a sports car (i'll be the first to admit it) but it easily pulled away from an RX8 from mid range, and also a Mitsi FTO GR. Both of these are sports cars, yet they couldn't keep up. Maybe fitting bigger discs and calipers isn't a bad idea when you consider the size of brakes fitted to these 'sports' cars?

IMO brakes and tyres are the two most important factors of any car, because if one of them fails, the rest of the car is worthless!

Davey I understand what you mean but the brakes are already suited to the car so I suggest it would be wasted money to uprate them unless the power output was increased greatly

The standard brakes probably aren't bad, but they are always worth improving if the cost is sensible, and he does ask about a chip for the car, so i guess he is looking to improve performance too?

30% is the average quoted figure for gains with remaps or tuning boxes, so the brakes may not handle that too well.

I don't know about the T27 but the T25 brakes aren't great.

If the discs/pads need replacing anyway then fitting non-Toyota oem replacements isn't a bad idea (I doubt that it's worth the cost of replacing the calipers & going for a large disc kit) - pads will give the best bang for the buck.

I'm running Mtec discs with Ferodo Premier pads & imo they are an improvement.

In the search for power "There is no replacement for displacement". Consider trading up to a 2.2 or T180 although I understand that some models have head gasket issues. If you are going to modify yours look out for the insurance 'get out' clauses unless you declare your mods. And if you do declare then watch your insurance premium out accelerate your car.
