Tax Disc Renewal

So with the latest scam to make more money out of us, who didn't renew their task disc on time since the end of December?

If so you'll recieve a nasty £80 fine through the post this coming week, my mum is probably going to get one due to not renewing on time for february.

Wonder what they'll do next to make more money out of us, probably put tax on cycling on British roads next!!!!!

SOME cyclists don't pay (seeing as I pay road tax on my car I reckon I've already pay my fair share and if I wasn't on the bike I'd be taking up a whole lane in my car).

I do reckon however they should fine any cyclist found on the road if there's a cycle lane they could be using! (even better, give you the right to run the morons over, DAMN Hard-Core cyclists do my head in).

Back to the original point, I thought you had 2 weeks grace after the end of the month (I'm sure I've back dated road tax in the past by a week or so before now as I've been waiting for pay-day before getting my tax). Has this now changed? Do I have to pay up by the end of the month?

I didn't renew in time for February as I didn't have the neccesary insurance documents or cover letter.

I'm nicely taxed now though, so if any f*cker decides to send me a fine almost a month after I taxed my car I will personally find him and see to his kneecaps with a black & decker drill. :ffs:

Saying that, my old man forgot to tax his car this year - It was four months out of date and he hasn't heard a thing.

I heard on the news they were issuing some 97,000 fines. That's over £7.7 million. Not a bad little return for the minimum effort. Just another way to drive the motorist off the road. I would much rather fines for people failing to buy insurance. I know hitting tax evaders will hit some insurance dodgers, but it also hits people who have simply forgotten or have their vehicle off the road and have forgotten to declare it SORN.

Horses are lovely, it's just the ****holes who ride them (exceptions made to truely nice people who ride horses!)

have to disagree on the horse, folks live in the country and a load of horses in the area, yes it would be nice to have those country lanes to myself but the horses have as much right and they always say thatnks when you slow down to overtake.....

cyclists are just a pita :)

well each to their own opinion but i dont agree that they have the right to be on the roads, afterall i my self pay 125 pounds a year just for the privalage to drive on britains less than adequate road network and how much does a horse cost to tax...............nothing

and then they 'dirty' the roads at will and thats a real nice experience if forced to pass through such manure to dirty my nicely polished car!
