Intake Charge Cooling

Can anybody suggest a good way of cooling the intake charge on my compressor. I've looked into an intercooler but the pipework seems convoluted and may lead to me actually losing power due to a requirement for increased boost. Cold air intakes won't really work as the charge will be compressed and so will increase intake temperatures once it has passed through the blower.

Any ideas welcome or if anyone has any good experiences.

could you not swap the pulley for a slightly smaller one to increase the boost to compensate or could always try water injection?
