hi mate

I had similar prob on mine. Tried the mirror fix but it didnt stop it. Turns out it was the plastic grill at the base of the windscreen (outside). Its held on with plastic screws. The plastic screw on the edge was missing. I replaced it and the rattle stopped. Might not be same rattle on yours but its worth a try as this rattle sounded like it was coming from the mirror

all best

Shaun

OK, not sure about the link - a moderator will need to look at that one.

If the vibration is coming from the mirror it is most likely the plastic cover on the underside of the black mirror bracket - the bit that sticks out from the door on which the mirror pivots.

If you look at the cover from the underside you will see a small rectangular drain hole. If you can get a small screwdriver with taped up blade in there you should be able to prise the cover off. A few blobs of strategically placed silicone on the back of the cover before pushing it back in will cure the rattle

Superb Mate Thanks !!! I think I will put some gaffer tape onto the cover to stop it from moving and see if this is where the noise is coming from. If it is from this area I will take the covers off and sort them !! The pictures really help !! It a noise that fits that kind of thing though !! Cheers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been driven mad by rattling doors on my RAV 4. My local dealer had the door card off but couldn't find anything. Last night I attached gaffer tape to the offending plastic whatsits and it's fixed! I can't thank you enough.
