Easy one is to buy a seat belt buckle from a scrappy and plug that in ..... Or Do the belt up ?? But if You are off road shooting or something the spare belt buckle is the way to go ..

This works on a 2004 4.2

1) Turn the power on (ie ignition to ACC, do not start engine)

2) Set the trip meter to ODO (using ODO/trip button)

3) Power off ignition

4) Turn power on

5) Hold down the ODO/TRIP button for 10 seconds

6) While Keeping the ODO/TRIP button down , put the drivers seat belt on (plug in the belt)

7) You will see b_on/b_off choice in the ODO LCD display, make your choice with the ODO/Trip button

You still get the seatbelt warning light flashing with the b_off but no bleep

At the risk of sounding cheesy. The buzzer is doing it's job. I have seen faces that kissed the windscreen or steering wheel, not a pretty sight.it can happen in just 100 yards. my sister wrote a car off just by driving it out of the dealers onto a busy road. Distance 60 yards at most. She was wearing the belt though. She only owned it 10 minutes.

I would always agree that you should wear a seat belt when you are driving normally.

However, I use my car a lot off road at an airfield for towing at very slow speeds.

In this instance I have to be quickly mobile, seatbelts are a hindrance and the buzzer is a real pain.

The world is becoming a nanny state, it won't be long before we all hear buzzers if we do anything "non standard" :)

Yeah, pushing those airbus A380s back off the stand can be tricky

Brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Pleased to confirm it works on a 2011 4.3 as well - and I promise not to drive on public roads without a seatbelt.

Don't know how to turn off the key in ignition / door open beeper too by any chance?? I leave the key in the ignition to have the radio on while I'm cleaning the car and it drives me nuts

Just plug the seat belt in behind you.

Its actually disability discrimination. I have a seat-belt exemption certificate as the normal lapbelt system would potentially kill me before my face hit the screen (no sarcastic comments about lesser of 2 evils please  ).

Thankfully my RAVs don't have seatbelt buzzers etc - but if they did I'd have bypassed the circuits to get rid of them.

  • 2 months later...

I just bought a 2008 Corolla Verso. It has no buzzers active at all. I would like the seat belt buzzer to stay off but I would like the lights/key buzzers ON. And can I have the top brick off the chimney please? Guess I could ask the dealer, but he thought there was no spare wheel when there was so what does he know?

Well, you could try the Verso forum but there is no way to disable that buzzer so you will have to wear your belt.

You probably beed a modern day Fred Dibnah for the chimney or maybe I just don't understand

Hi

Check in your vehicle handbook, there should be a small manual for the alarm, describing which of the many available alarm models you have.

I have attached some guides that I found online for alarm setting. Please use the right one for your alarm model. If your alarm is not featured, please post the model in your reply.

Ah! A Verso forum. Being a complete newbie (numpty) I knew not of Verso forums. I'll have a rummage round and see what I can find.

A little further up this thread is:-

1) Turn the power on (ie ignition to ACC, do not start engine)

2) Set the trip meter to ODO (using ODO/trip button)

3) Power off ignition

4) Turn power on

5) Hold down the ODO/TRIP button for 10 seconds

6) While Keeping the ODO/TRIP button down , put the drivers seat belt on (plug in the belt)

7) You will see b_on/b_off choice in the ODO LCD display, make your choice with the ODO/Trip button

I haven't tried it yet but it seems to be a 'hack' for the seat belt buzzer. Which I am happy to leave off. NOT because I don't wear seatbelts (that would be as bright as not wearing a lid on yer bike) simply because I don't like being nagged. It's like my good lady telling me not to forget the letter to post when it's already in my hand. I'm the one who, having just reversed out of the garage, can't fathom why I can't then exit the car. How did that seat belt get there?

Top brick off the chimney? A phrase a car dealer used when I beat him down to nought on a deal.

Off to find that Verso forum now, thank you for the help Anchorman!
