Steering Wonders To The Left

Hi

Not had my Rav4 long, a 2007 XTR diesel, one owner, full Mr T service history, no accidents, nearly new tyres all round and 30,000 miles. Someting i have noticed is that the Rav4 will slightly pull to the left, noticable by having to keep a fairly firm grip on the steering wheel and when letting the wheel go car wondering to the left. If i pull the steering wheel to the right and then let go, steering wheel will basically return to centre. If i pull wheel to left and let go, steering wheel will basically stay left.

I have checked tyre pressures. Brakes are not binding. Had the tracking checked at local tyre specialist. Tracking was out slightly. Although now reset car will still slightly wonder to left. I am aware of camber in our roads but i have never had a vehicle do this before.

Thought i would seek some opinions before i go back to Mr T.

Did not notice this problem on the test drive, although to be fair, was probably so excited by the RAV4 experience that did not concentrate on all the issues one should on a test drive.

Also have a rattle in my driver window area at certain speeds, again not noticed on test ride. Going to do the "mirror test" as this seems a likely source.

Cheers

too early to think, but had one half-thought --- the front nearside wheel bearing ?? Altho your car is m uch younger than mine, I have had problems with the nearside front wheel bearings. And number 2 RAV has just started the same misbehaving yesterday so I need to clear my garage to check it.....

Well at least i have sourced the rattle in my drivers window. It is indeed the cover under the mirror which is loose. Removed, done a test drive and all nice and silent.

Thx go out to anchorman

Can I suggest you look at the front tyres and make sure there are no directional arrows on them but theen also, swap the wheels from side to side at the front.

Good luck.
