Can anybody confirm what I read on detailing World, that WD40 will take the white polish marks you get on plastic trim ie side protectors and front and rear corner protectors?

It will hide them but they will return !! Use ground nut oil from the supermarket !! Absolutely brilliant for this job !! Trust Me it will work as well as any expensive automotive product ....HTH

Ther is always a risk of the marks returning if no attempt is made to remove the polish marks in the first place.

I find a light brush with an old toothbrush or an artists eraser works quite well.

To prevent it occuring in the first place treat the trim with a silicon based product before polishing so it doesn't become ingrained in the first place.

I wouldn't recommend any form of oil based product as most mineral or vegetable based oils are death to plastics.

Not much use when the damage is done though ?? The oil I pointed towards will do absolutely no harm to the plastics neither will WD40....

Prevention is best done by masking of any and all plastics before commencing polishing..
