Hey All,

I've got an old Hi-Ace Camper (1.6L 12R Engine, RH11 Chassis, 1975 Registered, 1974 Built) that has a leak on the front brake cylinder and needs new front shoes.. I've found that EBC Blueprint still make the shoes, but I'm not having much luck with google finding the cylinder.. Does anyone have any tips for either repairing the unit i have or getting a replacement? Is it the same part as on any other toyota of that era?

Cheers,

Joe.

Hi

Did you manage to find the bits for your brakes?

The reason why I am asking is because I have got hold of an old 1977 Hiace campervan, it is pretty well shot to bits, but I am up for a challenge to rebuild it!

After searching for ages on Google for info on it, I found this forum, so now I am searching the forums for any info on pre 1980 Hiace vans.

Sorry I cannot help you, but maybe we can help each other later?

Geoff

After years of fire-fighting brake cylinder leaks, I just sent all four of my front brake cylinders off to past parts to be refurbished and re-sleeved in stainless steel. This has got to be the better option in the longer term. The cost is about £45 per cylinder.
