Engine Malfunction Warning Light?

Hi all,

I have a 2005 D4D rav 4 Diesel.

She has been stuttering and chugging a bit for the past week, sluggish and poor performance (though still driving). I emptied a thing of diesel cleaner into her but made little difference. Today the Engine malfunction Light has come on, could this be dirty diesel or something more sinister? i am going to change all the filters tomorrow and see if that helps, anyone else had this problem?

Filters won't do any harm tilly but you may end up with SCV's.

Look in the pinned maintenance tips.
