Rof Box For 3 Door?

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has experience of roof boxes on the short wheelbase rav4? Can anyone recommend a make/model that will fit? All the pics I can find seem to be of the 5 door model.

As long as the distance between the front & rear clamps on the box (that fit to the cross bars that are clamped to the roof rails) fits comfortably within the usable distance between the ends of your roof rails, then you should be OK. Probably best if measure the length of your roof rails & then go into your local Halfords & measure up the distance between the U-clamps of different roof boxes. It may be that they have look-up charts for boxes -vs - car models. But I would still measure up anyway - some of Halford's staff aren't the sharpest tools in the box....

Have you tried web-sites like Thule or roofracks.co.uk? I suspect they can sort you out pretty quick. Mont Blanc are Toyota's OEM supplier of cross bars, bike carriers, etc. so it would be worth checking their web-site as whatever they have will be compatible.

We've got a Peugeot roof-box left over from a 406 estate we once had & I've used it several times on our 5-dr. I've assumed it will also fit our recently acquired 3-dr but guess I need to measure up first.

There's some fantastic kit about if you've got the cash to splash. Being a bit of a skinflint I think I'll be looking for an ebay/gumtree bargain.
