Gear Stick Noise

Sounds like a bit of resonance maybe. The engine revs at a certain level are amplified as they match the sticks natural frequency. Could try a different gear knob to change the weight thus change the natural frequency, Otherwise ensure everything in that area is nice and tight?

I don't know anything specific mechanically but that's a likely physics answer for you!

If it's vibrating it's a well known fault. (I had it on my first Rav) It's caused by the gear shift cables vibrating aginst the gearbox or bodywork ?

There is a fix for it, try using the search function for other threads. You should find that if you put a little bit of side pressure on the gearstick

with your hand the noise should disappear.

Hope this helps thumbsup.gif
