Glove Box Light

Hi All

Does a 2008 Rav4 XT-R have a glove box light. I couldn't find any mention of it in the manual. Would like to know if the bulb has gone or it's omitted from the spec.

If its omitted i thought i might fit a LED linked to instrument lighting or possibly the footwell lights. Any ideas welcome

A light may have been more useful than the cooler setting dial. Anybody know if the cooler thing actually works as i have not had a chance to test it yet.

Thanks

Dave

Unless anyone else has fitted one Dave, mine is the only 2008 XTR with said glovebox light that I am aware of:

Thanks for that Davrav

Excellent tutorial and well explained. The volvo switch is a much better idea that the footwell lights as these (i think) only come on when stationary with the handbrake.

I do have a few metres of LED strip but unfortunately this is RGB with a 12v controller so i could be the first RAV owner with glove box disco lighting. LOL. Looks like a trip to maplins then to get some standard strip.

From memory, the footwell lights are on whenever the ignition is on. I did consider wiring into them but it was just easier to get at the lighter illumination wiring.

I wanted a feed that I knew would be off with the ignition.

The light output is far more effective than the photo gives credit.

If you get the same LED strip I can lend you the drilling jig.........if I can locate it
