Comparing Engine Oil:- 0W20 With 5W30. Performance Is Now Sluggish.

Last year when I had my car serviced with Toyota they changed the oil using 5W30 PFE Optimal Drive Eng Oil.

This year they used 0W20 TGMO Eng Oil. I’ve notice a considerable loss of power in the engine/acceleration, is this to be expected?

Dose the new oil have to cyle through the engine for a while before get the same performance back? Or is it something else?

Thanks for you help.

Wow, that's the first time I've heard of 0w-20 doing that! Us Prius and Auris owners get the opposite effect! 5w-30 kills our economy!

it's also the first time I've heard of a dealer using 0w-20 voluntarily as it is more expensive than other slippy stuff. We normally have to shout and scream to get them to use it when it should be used.

What does your handbook say you should have? Did the dealer give a reason?
