New Battery Fitted Today!

Sunny but dry weather today was a good excuse to change the original 'FB Furukawa HiDash' Battery on my 54 plate Rav4 XT4 D4D! It had started to need about four turns of the key to crank the Battery so I was starting to lose confidence in the car! I was trucking with my artic in the week and I passed a small modest shop on a side street in Stockport so I put the tacho on a 15 min break and had a nosey in there! The guy said that the VARTA G8 with 830 CCA (cranking power) and a 95Ah capacity was the best Battery for my diesel engine and car type, I sarcastically replied that "it would be for £106 wouldn’t it"!! He said that because I was collecting it there and then he would accept £90 with a four year guarantee so I jumped at it! (I know these Varta battery's are good because we used to fit unmarked Varta to our military vehicle fleet when I was in the Army!)

I removed the old battery and took the opportunity to clean the removable plastic battery tray and the area where the battery sits from dead leaves, mush..etc! Fitting was easy, it fitted perfectly in the plastic battery tray and with the terminals in the correct position (+ front left - front right) the battery was fitted in no time! What a difference this battery made, she fired up before I had even competed the first turn of the key and on the initial test drive she felt more lively and smooth!

If anyone needs to or is interested in changing their battery then I will place a link below, these lads were good to deal with and collecting saved me £16, and for a top-notch battery I thought it was a good deal!
