Got a copy of Auto Express yesterday, and read the Coming Soon bit. Low and behold Rav4 New Model early 2013 :yahoo: So it looks by this time next year we will be looking at Spy Shots of the next gen Rav4.

There is also a good article on secondhand 4.3 Ravs, one point I didn,t know ( so they say) is that this model suffers DMF problems, I thought that was just the 4.2 model!!!!

Regards Clare

Hmmm, been various rumours about a new model [and hybrid] for a couple of years now.

Need to write to the editor about the DMF as I don't think we've heard of any on the 4.3...

AND our RAVs were not subject to the accelerator pedal recall

Nice looking RAV in the photos though

We don't know anything about the model let alone the engine. It wouldn't surprise me that having refined the engine to what we believe to be a potentially trouble free, economical and environmentally friendly engine that they buy in what I believe to be no better.

Wouldn,t think so, it,s too early. As far as I know the next Gen Auris is the first to get them.

The current diesel engine is a lovely motor. I hope Toyota mate it to an 8speed Autobox. That said, it would take alot for me to change my current Rav. Its a great package. I'd like a more utilitarian looking Rav if anything and a built in TomTom Satnav option.

Been saying for a while now that IMHO Toyota should make the next Rav more butch/utilitarian looking and less car looking thumbsup.gif

So long as it has a Sunroof a spare wheel and all the goodies like the T180. Full leather ect ect then I'm in .....

My Wife has now sadly decided to give up driving which is a sensible but sad thing to do. But given the very powerfull medication She is on its really the right thing to do................

So the need as it was to make the next Rav a Automatic is no longer a major priority and it also means the pressure to change Our existing T180 is off.. So You lot will have to put up with Me for the foreseeable future..

To be honest having now seen the Evoque in the flesh out on the roads I've gone off them a bit..

I do like the T180 and in truth hardly use the Jag XF. So I will await the new Rav and hopefully Toyota will offer a top end spec car with all the options that it really needs to keep Customers loyal..

Ant pictures yet of the new car ???

Charlie.

I agree. Need an option of a less car like Rav. Almost a Rav sized Hilux with low range box.

I wouldn't trust any pictures of the new Rav untill they are official, Before the 4.3 facelift came out, one magazine was showing an artists impression and stated as a fact the new Rav would have the option of an opening rear tailgate, Range Rover style.. If my memory is not failing me Dave M posted some pictures at the time  Stew

The nearest photo to the next gen Rav4 supposedly is the one that Toyota relised for EV version last year. Remember it was a white coloured Rav and was very aero-dynamic at the front end.

Sorry to hear about your Wife Charlie, and yours Dave, hope they all get better and soon.

As above for Charlie & Dave's other half's.

Yes.....a more chunky looking Rav would be a good seller IMHO ,get back to what it was designed for...... The Recreational Activity Vehicle with four wheel drive

Designed to take you ,your bikes, canoes, outdoor gear where you wanted to get to....if it included a diff lock all the better & maybe even ...low range.

After all.....if mine keeps playing up.....i may be looking elsewhere......:crybaby: this year.

Yep exactly, more of a working 4X4 and not as big or opulent as a Landcruiser either

I agree. I'd love a landcruiser but £35k plus is alot to have in a car. I'd have a hilux but i like the dog to be in the boot in the car,not in the external rear of the Hilux. So a Rav sized Hi-Lux with a Low Box and A/T tyres, and extra fogs etc.

I fell in love with the Toyota Fortuner when we were in the far east last August - they were every where - bigger than the RAV & smaller than the Land Cruiser - there are rumours that it is supposed to come to the UK.
