Tercel 4X4 1986

HI everyone

Having problems with my Tercel 4WD; won't idle properly and engine cuts out at junctions etc. Reckon its the carb, probably the "fuel cut-off solenoid valve" (from looking on the web) which doesn't seem to be working. Does anybody out there know if there is a straighforward replacement carb I can fit to a 3A engine, like a Weber or similar, or if its possible to get a replacement Aisan carb from somewhere (or the solenoid valves / any other parts)? Doesn't seem to be much on eBay.

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi Adrian and welcome to the TOC.

If the fuel cut off is not working then you would not be able to start surely.

you could check out if a weber specialist but i think it would be a bit expensive.

Is there anyway you can byepass the cut off just to prove thats the problem.

many things can cause fuel starvation.

have you stripped the carb and give it a good clean and check things like the float etc are working ok.
