After years of French cars I was in a dilemma as to what to replace my 300,000 mile (yes that is five zeroes) 1999 Peugeot 406 HDi Esate with. After driving an X-type Jag (very plastcy) and a 407 (3 fault messages in a 2 mile test drive), I drove an 06 plate 100k Toyota Avensis 2.2 D-4D Estate which was better than either and picked it up Last Wednesday. I absolutely love it - quiet and loads of oomph, bluetooth is great....the only fault I can pick with it is that the clutch pedal creaks. I asked the garage to rectify this before I picked it up, which they did, but it has come back. I laid inside the footwell and squirted WD40 at everything I could see, which was obviously not enough, as the sqeak is still there.
