Fuel Injection Control Unit

hi guys

i have a 55 plate avensis 2.2d4d , i am a taxi driver and have owned this car since sept08 .my alternator packed in ten days ago,have had mine fixed and is back on car ,but car wont start. the garage thinks the fuel injection control unit is at fault, we tried it on my mates avensis and his would not start so we are quite sure this is the culprit.do the injectors need to be reprogrammed so the new unit will work. i have bought a second hand unit ,plugged it in to my car it still wont start either . not sure if i have bought a knackered one tho

thx both of u, a dealer has told me my injectors do not need programming in to new unit.im struggling to get a second hand one

. might end up giving toyota £500 for a new one which i dont want to do . will post a happy result next week i hope
