Engine Revving In Corolla (2005,1.4)

Hi folks

.We bought a corolla last week and the only thing i can find wrong with it is when changing gear the engine revs up slightly after i have taken my foot off the acclerator pedal to change gear.

I spoke to the salesman and he in turn said that the mechanic mentioned that it was part of the engine running system and nothing to worry about.Is this true for all corollas or not.Thanks for your help.

thats good news everyone thanks for the advice,now we can drive at ease.my wife likes toyota as her dad had one for years in africa,the advert at that time said as tough as toyota.

hopefully they are tough here as well
