High Idle 1000-1200Rpm

My 03 1.0 litre seems to idle a little on the high side. I,ve taken the MAF out of the airbox and cleaned it although it Didnt seem dirty but i gave it a spray of contact cleaner anyway. The wires appear to be intact as well. The throttle body was a little dirty as was the edge of the throttle flap. When it started again, it idled at approx 1000 rpm for approx 30 seconds and then when up again to 1200. The car doesnt seem unusually sore on fuel altough the tip of the exhaust is a little sooty. I,ve seen non-genuine sensors fro sale on eBay for around £40, has anyone used them before?

Any ideas. The car has 48k on it.

When was it last serviced? Could be in need of a bit of TLC
