Rotary Volume Control ?

I am thinking about the Aygo head unit, but asking here as it is not really model specific.

I really hate the up-down push-button volume controls and would like a rotary knob instead (or as well). Our Yaris has pushbuttons on the steering wheel, but most times I reach over for the knob on the dash, but the Aygo only has buttons on the radio.

Does anyone know of a conversion (eg. rotary encoder?) that can add a rotary volume control to the head units fitted in Toyotas?

Or is anyone whizzy enough to know how to make such an adaptation?

I'm reluctant to change the head unit as it will largely lose the built in look (and will cost a fair amount).

Have you seen this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-YARIS-99-03-CAR-CD-MP3-TUNER-RADIO-FITTING-KIT-/251002762694?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3a70ee35c6

It is what I bought as a replacement to the Toyta one, I too like the rotary knob, so much easier to use than a push button, there are many similar for sale like this unit unit.

Radiomobile ?!? Wow, that's a name I've not seen for a while.

Yes, no problem finding a new head unit - just the cost and 'less blended' look that is incurred. As the car is mainly a local runabout I can't really justify spending another 3 figure sum on the audio, much as I'd like to. (I've already changed the front Speakers and fitted an underseat sub.)
