The Touch Screen Portion Of My Sat Nav Is Not Working

Hi,

I'm new to posting, so, here goes. I purchased a 2008 Avensis TR D-4D and the Sat Nav is working up to a point. It lights up and goes to the start up screen where I should be able to amend/select the language and agree to the useage instructions. However, the touch screen used for input is not working. The buttons down the side change the screen view and all appear to working. When the screen is tilted its possible to see a crack in the screen. Therefore, I suspect the issue lies with the touchscreen rather than the whole display.

Firstly, how do I go about taking the unit out of the dash (I beleive its the TNS700), I'm hopeful only the display portion needs to be removed?

Secondly, has anyone ever successfully replaced a touch screen on one of these units and if what was the procedure? Or can anyone recommend a repair centre?

Thanks

welcome to the forum :)

It'll probably be cheaper just to buy a Garmin or Tom-tom especially if you wanted to update the Toyota satnav disc to the current one.
