Avensis Radiator Fan - Advice Please!

Hi, hope someone can put my mind at rest.

Avensis 08 D4D TR. Had car for a week then Toyota kindly put a new engine in it under their 'extendend out of warranty' - fabulous! Had the car back for 3 weeks and all is running beautifully. My query is regarding how frequent should the Radiator fan come on. Real heatwave down here in the South but noticed fan is cutting in quite regularly when stopping in traffic. Temp gauge normal (half way), coolant fine. I'm probably being a bit paranoid at the moment - listening out for every little noise etc. Also, any idea what i might expect to get for the car now it has a new engine - bodywork and interior etc. all excellent. Thanks for any advice, Jerry

The fan kicking in is good because it means that the sensor and fan are working correctly. Worth checking your coolant level though, just to ensure any air locks that are purged as you drive do not lower the coolant too much.

I'm assuming you're using your air conditioner in this weather too, if so it could be the fan for that
