Hi, have purchased a Corolla GS 1.6VVTi 2001 model 3 weeks ago after selling my Toyota Estima 2.2TDi.

The Estima was my 1st Toyota car and because of the reliability it gave even though it was a 1994 model I just had to have another Toyota after selling the Esti.

The Corolla has 71000 on the clock but drives like a new car and is in immaculate condition.

What I have noticed is a constant humming noise from the engine bay area which is only noticable when the engine is running. Is this normal for this car? It dos not change pitch or get louder when accelerating etc.

Cheers Deggs from Durham

Sorry for not getting back very busy with work.

Sold my Esti as we only required a smaller car, girls grown up now.

Humming noise sounds like a hoover, not loud but is noticeable.

Been a while since on this post, still have this noise in the engine bay cannot put finger on it. Car still running perfectly, when engine switched off the humming noise dies out in 2 secs so its not related to anything like the belts or the engine as nothing is moving etc.. its more electrical like a pump?. Still happy with the car.....
