I've had to take my car into my nearest dealership for various small problems recently, and each time they've given me a tyre reading even if my problem wasnt about the tyres/steering. Today I took the car in for its MOT and was told that I needed new tyres, which I said I didnt. After it passed the MOT I was told that there wasnt anything wrong with my tyres although they were going to put new ones on. Is this a fault with the various mechanics who dont know how to read a tyre tread depth reading or just a con to get people to buy tyres unnecessarily. I do like my car, but I do find that I spend £300 - £600 on a service which I never had with my Ford cars.
