Hi folks

Wife was out in the car today, (couple of inches of snow on road) when going round a corner she said the car started to slip sideways and the vsc light and alarm came on. Is this supposed to happen and just the car telling us its doing it job or is there something needing looked at. Light did go off again

regard kev.

No, it just lights up to let you know it's "doing it's thing" and to let you know you're pushing it a bit!

Completely normal.

My 4.3 certainly behaves like that. It has to be pretty bad ( slippy uphill bend or tee junction? ) to make it happen. I'll repeat what I said last winter - having driven all sorts of 4x4s since the mid 70's, the RAV is unbelievably nimble and sure footed in snow and ice so long as you treat it with a very light right foot ( accelerator or brakes ).

Pure dead normal, Kev min.....how clever is that....? Tell wife it transmits a message toToyota each time it happens, and it's three strikes and they remotely switch aff the engine......bet it don't happen again......

Bad Kev.......
