Tape Is Dead - Cd Rools!

Well, I finally got off my brain and took the plunge. I picked up a cd player from a carboot for a tenner and bought the iso plug adaptor from fleabay for pennies. Then hummed and hahhed for ages about how difficult it would be to change the car stereo. Its a piece of wee. Honestly. I found the info on changing it ages ago but was worried that nothing would work afterwards. Seems I only have 8 thumbs. So now my old tapes can go back in the garage and the cd's can earn their keep! John

Cool! :)

How did you do it? Did you fit it in the 1DIN box near the lighter socket or did you replace the whole thing?

I originally wanted to replace mine but didn't want to lose the ability to change tracks via the steering wheel so I got a little MP3 box that plugs into the CD changer socket instead. (Which cost almost as much as a new radio! )

I was lucky that Halfords had an offer for free fitting of radios over £50 when I wanted to upgrade mine.

They managed to do it using almost the same method as the link & it was up & working in about 20-30 minutes.

It's been OK 18 months on.
