Should I buy proper Toyota parts -

Oil Filter

Air filter

Fuel filter

for my low mileage but old 1999 RAV4?

Or can I buy eBay ones and can you advise which ones?

Thanks very much.

Hi,

if you contact our parts guru, Kingo ( Parts King to give him his Sunday name, i.e. the one to use if you PM him ) I think you may be agreeably surprised at the cost of genuine parts. I changed my front pads and discs 7 or 8 months ago and there was very little difference between his discounted prices and the cost of reasonable quality alternatives. When I first bought mine I decided to change the oil between dealer services so asked Kingo about filter costs. I bought a carton of 10 which were a considerable saving on the one off price. It's also worth looking at what other bits you are likely to use ( air filter, belts etc ) and getting them at the same time as it saves on postage. Deliver is excellent - often next day. HTH

He used to take payment in meat pies as well as plastic - but I don't know if this offer is still open!!!!!

i would always use genuine parts, they're often cheaper, however, if they're more expensive then you have the peace of mind that the part is fit for purpose.
