1999 1L Yaris - Exhaust Manifold Issues

Hi

I've had a ticking from my engine for the last few weeks (more noticeable when accelerating) and a fumey smell inside the cabin when sitting stationary with the engine running. Taken it to the garage and they reckon it's the exhaust manifold leaking. It's too corroded to weld apparently so need a new one.

They can't source the part from anywhere other than Toyota who want about £250 - £300 depending on how quickly I want it, which is ASAP really. Only £50 for labour. I've seen a few used manifolds through eBay and 247 spares for about £100 but all are no refunds etc and I'm not really keen taking it on faith that the part will be correct or in good condition.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to source a cheaper manifold or a 2nd hand one form a reputable supplier?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Gavin

Its a Toyota only part unfortunately. You could try and find a decent breakers yard and hope the part is decent or bite the bullet and get a new one.. Sounds like the last one lasted a long time
