Toyota recommend that you find an open road and drive at 40 mph (2500 rpm until it finishes. This is to get the heat up in the DPF to allow incineration of the soot. Don't switch off when it starts, even if you've just arrived home, off you go again till the cycle ends. about 12 minutes in my case.

Good init?

I just wanted to update this thread as  lot of people suffers from the insane DPF regeneration.

Since my DPF replacement in Nov 2014, I have added approx 35k miles and the regeneration cycles has slowly dropped from 500 miles to around 120 last month. During this period I have used ONLY Shelll premium fuel as I was collecting the Shell points. But I decided to switch to BP premium diesel last month.

After using BP fuel, the regeneration cycles had gone back up to 500 miles for the last 3 cycles.

I will report back again.........
