T180 Newbie My Mystery Sat Nav

[T180 Ray]

Hi Folks

Just (5 hours ago!) became the excited owner of a 2006 T180. I am lovin it so far - loads of spec and loads of speed

I have the handbook but no information on the operation of the the sat nav or connection of the bluetooth. I presume it has the latter, as it certainly has the steering controls and voice command feature.

So I am guessing there should be a handbook for the sat nav and phone? I am hoping some kind soul may point me in the right direction?

Also missing a cargo cover for the rear compartment, roller blind or similar? are these available here?

Hi Ray welcome to the forum...

Your car does have bluetooth but on My car the voice did nothing. It opened dialogue but did not respond to commands.....

Im sure one of the more computer literate will link you to an online handbook.

Cargo nets are as far as I'm aware not a standard issue but there are hundreds of them on eBay for little money..

On Sat navs I hav a genuine 2012 up to date navigation DVD that i will sell for 25 quid posted. Every penny will go to Macmillan nurses....

Apart from the well documented engine issue the 180 is a fantastic motor.

I didn't have the satnav instructions either.

I did have to spend a good few hours just playing around with my satnav/Bluetooth.

It's not the simplest system in the world to operate, but with practice it soon becomes second nature.

The satnav is IMO one of the best I've used.

This may sound like a daft question, but have you lifted up the boot floor and checked the roller cover is not stored underneath? It is surprising how many people are not aware of all the various storage areas in their cars (I only found the underdash tray on my RAV4.2 after about 2 years!)

I have the sat nav manual but not the normal handbook!

As suggested the roller cover may be stored under the boot floor.

I did see one on fleabay for £70 this morning.

Well I found my official Toyota 9004 satnav handbook today,and take back what I said on it being easy to use!

Its a 206 page volume,and to make FULL use of its hundreds of truly amazing functions you'd need a degree in pure maths and to double your expected journey times.

What a piece of kit ;~)

On the subject of the sat nav update disk. How does this work with Toyota ? As on my old Lexus RX I had to pop the disk in the boot where the sat nav hard drive was and the disk stayed in it.

According to my current map data in my Rav it has 2010-2011 Ver.1 Gracenote (CDDB): Ver. 02421. Is there a newer version out ?
