How To Save The Iq

Exactly the same has happened with the BMW C1 motorcycle...

It came out in the year 2000...very expensive, but with a lot of options... ABS / radio / safetybelts 2X / CVT / and more.... for a motorcycle in that year it was breathtaking NEW...

Helas BMW started to sell it via the car dealers from BMW... Cause the safety issue would make all the other BMW motorcycles obsolete with they would say it was the safest motorcycle in the world...

Helas...sales where bad ....

Production stopped in 2003.. So only 3 years..

But there is still...at this very moment...a large group of fanatics, who keep this thing running and making repairs themselves and cheaper than BMW ever did..

Glad to own one...

Anyways ... just thinking... :-D

Haven't seen many of those on UK roads. In fact, I don't remember seeing any! Apparently, and according to this review, UK bikers still require a helmet which rather negates the convenience of a roof.

Back to the iQ I think you might be right about enthusiasts. It is a cracking little car which some of us will find difficult to have prised out of our possession. I'd like to learn how to refit/reinstall the airbags should they go off without the car being written off by UK insurers for being too expensive a job.

Nice IanLinux,

Do not know about the helmet... thought that the smaller engine (or bigger?) for younger drivers was obligated and for the older drivers they did not have to.

In Europe there are some countries where it is obligated... Hongary or so.. take a helmet with you for to be sure...

Even heard about a tall guy that was obligated to wear a helmet because his head could hit the front glass.... And that someone stated that the weight of a helmet could cause injuries because of the safetybelts..

Anyways...it is a real fun machine.... Eh.. nice sunny weather and NO wind please... :-P

About the iQ..I have a specialist garagist who knows al about the Smart car... way cheaper than Mercedes... Also he knows his way around my iQ... so when the obligation for garancy has gone...I will switch to him for taking care...

And .. I feel very sorry / am real sad...that the Dutch iQ club no more excists... damn...
