Heater Probs...... Can Anyone Please Help?1997 Rav4 Petrol

Could use some help here, 1997 Rav4 petrol Heater just blows cold air, I think the cable has come off that controls the blend flap that lets the heat through the matrix I am sure heater matrix is ok as both sides very hot where it comes through to the engine compartment..... Would love to know if this blend flap is reachable by hand or if you have to tear the thing apart to get at it...... Be happy to have it wedged open for the next couple of months.... can always open a window if it gets too hot
