Display Screen Is Blank - No Power

Hi My display unit on 05 Avensis Tspirit has just gone black, appears to be power, any ideas on were to start to trouble shouting? Are these screens prone to failing? Also I have removed the display unit and there is an unused connector behind the screen - any ideas what this is for? Thanks
