Running In

The Yaris Hybrid manual advises to avoid "Extreemly high speeds" for the first 1000 miles. Does anyone know what the Toyota definition of "Extreemly High speed" is? I would guess about 65mph. Mine has done about 500 miles now.

Thanks for any help.

Sorry, don't know the answer, but am interested side I pick up my new hybrid in about a week. Let's just say though that your definition of extremely high speed and mine differ greatly...

I would think that the car will be ok at 70mph on a motorway even when being run in. I would think just driving it steadily with no sharp braking or accelerating (as is the general advice for any car these days) it will be fine. High speed to me will be about 90mph

It's easy really, just like what "five a day" means? Just don't continually thrash it at maximum revs between gears. 70 on a motorway is OK, but not in second gear. if you see what I mean.
