Due to certain parties abusive attitudes...

Reminder:

Abusive, Invasive and Anti-Social Behaviour

The club takes the “be polite” rule VERY seriously. We will not tolerate ANY rudeness or swearing – this includes modifying words to escape our profanity filter. Any member who is intentionally unpleasant or disruptive will receive one warning, and will be permanently banned from the club after a second offence.

Swearing, blasphemy or profanity – again either explicitly or by trying to deceive our profanity filter – will be edited or deleted without warning or notice and may lead to the member being banned from using the forum and / or banned from the club.

Members should not hijack another member’s thread by deliberately changing the subject away from that which the original poster intended. Posts made in this way may be deleted without notice.

In all cases relating to acceptable content, the club moderation team will decide – at its absolute discretion – what is acceptable and what is not. Where posts are edited or deleted by the moderation team, no notice will be given.

Site Management

The club moderation team may at its absolute discretion, remove or edit any post, signature or profile with or without notice or explanation, this will be after consideration of the rules regarding, unauthorised advertising or soliciting, abusive or antisocial behaviour or any other action which violates the club Terms and Conditions. If you are unsure about whether your post will be allowed under these rules, please seek guidance from a moderator before you post.

Moderators within the club are appointed by the management to volunteer and moderate topics and posts within the club and have the right to remove, edit or alter any post they see fit that bides with these terms and conditions on this website. Any members opposing a moderator’s decision should do so with the moderator directly by using PM or email in a professional manner. Any member purposely creating posts or threads opposing a moderators’ decision will result in the member’s forum account being closed permanently.

Members should also be reminded that we do not tolerate ANY rudeness to staff members whatsoever whether it is done through the website, PM system or email.

ANY form of hostility or abuse to a member of the moderation team, as a result of their enforcing any of the club’s rules, will result in the permanent banning of the offending member from the club, without notice.

OK, but not sure which part of the thread equaled - Abusive, Invasive and Anti-Social Behaviour. It got a bit debated yes, but didn't think it had gone too far?

When a member starts to be abusive about an entire mark because he has had a bit of bad luck / poor driving skills it is not in the interest of our forum to sit back and allow them to rubbish the car.

If the same fault had happened to several cars then I could understand it and we would be on his side but the evidence did not support it.

We will not allow any member to abuse other members for any reason just because they have a different point of view as we try to keep this a friendly forum to visit to promote learning and sharing.

So if the toys go out the pram so does the post....

Ehhh....

I see only "will result in the permanent banning of the offending member from the club"..

but no removing of whole text or conversations...

What we do in Holland... is rewrite the offending text with "removed by moderator" ... so the conversation stays..only the offending text is gone..

Removing all of it seem a bit harsh...

But then again ... who am I to judge... :-/

Extract from Terms & Conditions:

The club moderation team may at its absolute discretion, remove or edit any post, signature or profile with or without notice or explanation, this will be after consideration of the rules regarding, unauthorised advertising or soliciting, abusive or antisocial behaviour or any other action which violates the club Terms and Conditions.

Please note that this wasn't the only thread affected.

Certainly a good reason to visit the forum regularly and keep up with what is being discussed ;)

I think the new moderation team is a good thing for this forum. I've previously left and come back a couple times due to receiving abusive nonsense in the past. Usually someone deliberately trolling for fun and ruining what had been a good or interesting debate. How many have left, never to return because of a trolling minority?

If you have a fault or issue with your car, there are ways of saying it. All cars and all manufacturers have problems with their cars and most people appreciate that. Dissing a car, or manufacturer or even insulting owners of a particular car isn't the way.

(said generally and not aimed at anyone in particular)

Well said Grumpy, i left Facebook because of the trolls, cheats and children on their that were in their 40's if you like.....glad to see the silly ones are not on here.

Incidentally i am impressed with your posts about low rolling resistance tyres, I thought i knew all there was to or needed to know about tyres, just goes to prove the more you learn the more you realise you didn't know and what more there might be to pick up too! :D

Ahhhh .... I do miss the Spanish Inquisition....

Have a very bad feeling about this...

Even my boss did not talk down to me in this way... What is this?... Russia in the old days? Master Yoda vs apprentice?

I like the discussions...this is what this forum is for... and keeping it clear as glass....

Never ever had an problem of anyone saying something invasive here ... nor on Facebook.. you can block people easily on FB.

But then again I am Dutch ... and we do like to express our opinion ...

I am relaxed about anyones view being expressed on this forum, as long as it is the truth as they perceive it to be, then that's all fine by me.

We have enough prevention of free speech in the UK already imposed upon us by "big bother" the establishment and as long as it is not a direct threat to another individual it is just an expression of free speech and that is what a democratic society should be all about.

What other people think about me is none of my buisness !

Have a Nice Day !

Each to their own as they say.....we all have different opinions on things, if we were all the same life would be too predictable.

As long as we all treat each other with respect then our community is a good one to be part of.
