Hiace Radio Problem

I am trying to fit a new head unit in my Hiace. At present it has the factory fitted double depth audio unit but I want to fit a single head unit. I was told once that a Rav 4 fascia can be fitted and then fit the new head unit to that. Does anyone know if this is correct?

The fascia from a RAV will not fit however it is possible to fit a single din audio unit into the double hole with either a blank or a cubby filling the other din sized hole
