Anyone Fitted A 12V Supply To T27 Tourer Load Area?

I would like to install a 12v socket for a cool box in the load area of my Tourer, I can get a socket from eBay or a breaker but am wondering if there are any accessible cables that can be used (live with Ignition on) in the load area.

I would think that there would be enough room behind one of the side panels for a socket but not sure how to remove them. Probably best using offside panel as the fuel filler is on the nearside and best to keep these well apart :fireman2:

Any helpful suggestions appreciated!

Thanks

Alan.

I had the panels loose on a T27 saloon, most (maybe all) of the wiring is in the left side. To loosen the trim panels (saloon, so tourer might differ) there are some push-in type clips on the vertical, near the boot opening, once removed the panel can be moved out of the way for access. Maybe you need to remove the centre section first, which also unclips. Sorry, can't exactly remember as I had them all out to fit reverse sensors. The clips have a sort-of double flat edged tip, I used pointed pliers to pull them out.

Toyota Tech document for fitting the towbar wiring kit shows exactly how to remove the left side panel.

Did a quick search last night and found this which shows the installation of a tow bar electrics, it is a Toyota Tech PDF file.

Not sure if the same as as the one posted above but it covers panel removal and wiring, now I need to find a power supply feed which is only live when ignition is on.......

Hello People,

This is the second thread that I see here on this topic, which is left without conclusion. I'll attempt to revive it.

AJW1100 I hope you are still following it. Have you completed the install after all?

As the topic dates back 6 years, to 2014, hopefully the OP will have sorted the issue.
