Hi guys I'm

New here, looks a great site, anyway I have a 2005 d4d avensis, she's done 173000

Miles, when I accelerate up to 80km car shakes all the way up

Past 120km, now I

Mean really really bad, the minute I take my foot

Of accelerator absolutely nothing?, if I push down on accelerator bam shakes like crazy, couldn't be balancing if it doesn't shake when foot of accelerator, was thinking knackered drive shafts? Any help be much appreciated

Have you looked at the engine mounts? Does the engine excessively pitch/roll when you drop the clutch?

No nothing like that, have even lifted bonnet and have her a good reving but no movement, I recently got a set of t spirit wheels for it, I was convinced was the balancing on the tyres as all symptoms suggest that, but surely car would stil shake when I'm doing 100km but just goes when foot of accelerator

?Different wheels..?where they bought brand new or second hand, reason i ask is its not impossible for a buckled alloy wheel to cause the car to shake /vibrate?have you thought about taking the car to a specialist re-alignment centre .

My current totally wild guess would be that either it's something clutch related, the wheels have thrown a weight or there is something inside the tyres causing the vibration, maybe some loose rubber or moisture?

Clutch-related things are tricky as they have a wide variety of symptoms.

Wheel imbalance tends to show vibrations at/above certain speeds, but will gradually go away again if you lift off and let the speed drop.

If the vibration happens above a certain speed or under hard acceleration, goes away instantly (rather than gradually) if you lift off and tends to come and go when above a certain speed but constantly holding that speed, there's a chance there's some water or something moving around in the tyre (Ever since I put that puncturesafe goop in my tyres I get this last symptom when I'm overtaking because of the goop shifting around in the tyre :()

Car had dual mass flywheel and new clutch fitted only 30000km ago nothing clutch related and no vibrations pull like a train still, and will go away slightly at 120 but stil shaky, I got the wheels second hand when I first drive with them on they were shaky so I said ah ill just get them balanced but the last week it's gotten worse, I'm going to pop it into a garage today as it's awful to drive, I shall look at all tyres sizes to

Make sure there correct, but when I bought the car on the roads I noticed knocking from

Beneath car, I have the car only 2 months so all this work was going to get looked at when had the money thanks for replies guys

How about putting the old wheels back on and see if it cures it?

Glad to be your assistance, had a strong inkling it was down to a buckled wheel and balancing.
