Hi people,

I recently bought a 1997 (before the facelift) 3dr Corolla. I needed a cheap car, and the only cars I trust when they are older than 10 years are Japanese ones - specifically a Toyota (I would consider others too).

I used to have a 1995 4dr saloon Corolla and never had any problem with it. Sold it when I moved from Ireland to the UK.

The main reason I joined the forum is for exchanging parts and DIY tips. I'm trying to run the car on the cheap and fixing myself what I can. I don't really like fixing cars, but I had to learn it, because I always had old ones, and spending a few hours is always better then spending a few hundred quids.

Well, I hope I'll be a useful member here.
