Mr2 Mk2 Advice Needed

My 1993 MR2 mk2 failed its MOT as it needs a new exhaust back box and cat converter. Garage quoted £500 to replace and fit.

Can anyone recommend how I can get it fixed for less than that? Welding, not an option - have checked.

The car had new front and rear brake discs + pads and new handbrake cables fitted in 2009 and has only done 8,000 miles since then so it's too good a car to end it's days just yet, so I'm hoping there's a cheaper way to fix the exhaust.
