How much does a lightened flywheel typically cost? And does any1 know if there is 1 available 4 the 1 litre?

I fancy cutting down my 0-60 time! :D

Cheers Nizan!

So the quest now is 2 find 1 4 a 1 litre or do they use the same flywheel?

Oh and how much would this take off my 0-60 time and is there any drawbacks 2 havin a lightened flywheel?

Cheers

I very much doubt there the same so you probably gotta find one.

Dont know how it will effect 0-60, i always got the impression that you loose low down torque but gain more peak BHP when you lighten them, if this is the case then there will probably be more diference on a 1/4 sprint or fast road (track) racing...but i might be wrong lol

Ive only ever had 1 car with one but ive never driven the same car without  so just hope someone with more knowlege posts lol

your power/torque figures stay the same, but the drivetrain has less inertia...

weight up the flywheel and you'll go up hills barely losing speed. but you'll be slower 0-60...

lighten it and you'll lose momentum easily, but gain it easily too, hence lower 0-60s... dunno how much though. For full effect you'd need lighter wheels, tyres driveshafts AND flywheel! ;)

i wouldnt bother on a 1.0 dude you need all the torque you can muster for general driving. it would generally be a pain and wear out the clutch quicker.

well just my 2p

Get the ports flowed and polished. Instant improvement and it doesn't affect your insurance.

The MR2 lot discussed this a while back

Basically, you get better performance and fuel economy. The engine is more efficient and the emissions are lower due to a more efficient detonation in the engine.
