2006 Corolla Rear Parking Light Problem

Hello. I'm new here and I'm hoping someone can help me.

My son has a 2006 1.4 petrol Corolla 4 door saloon. It is constantly blowing the parking light bulb in the rear passenger side.

I tried replacing the bulb only to see the replacement fill with smoke and eventually blow. The brake light works fine.

Has anyone came across this. Battery voltage seems to be ok,giving a 12.8v reading.

Hi,

If there was a short on the wiring I would expect the fuse to blow; have you checked the fuse is the correct amperage and not been messed with / wrong value.

If its just the bulb blowing , is it the right type, a standard 21w/5w twin element bayonet type on UK saloon and hatch models ?

Nothing wrong or damaged with the bulb holder connectors ? no moisture getting in anywhere ? - have you tried the good bulb on the nearside in the offisde problem holder?

Have done all what you asked and still no joy.

I used 3 new bulbs and they all blew.
