Aftermarket Add-On Under Dash

Hi Folks,

Have just purchased a '98 Avensis 2.0 GLS. I have noticed, what seems to be an aftermarket red led fitted to the underside of the dashboard by the drivers feet. I have no idea what this may be, anyone got any ideas? Is it standard, or something someone has installed?

what makes the led come on ?

Will take a picture tomorrow, but is just a small red led held by a screw fix ie led unit comes through the dash and simple plastic round screw/washer holds it in place.

Haven't had time to explore if and what is making it come on, if indeed it does come on. Just wondered if it was a standard fitting.

I will investigate it further and maybe even trace the wiring.

The LED is definitely aftermarket from what you described. I have a similar spec car bar the engine.
