Do I Have A Clutch Issue?

I picked up my 2006 Aygo yesterday with 33k miles showing on the clocks.

First thing I noticed was the clutch biting point is right up at the top of the pedal travel. Makes it very hard to get the car off the line and feel though I need to give it a boot full (3k RPM) and off I go and to me that just doesn't feel right.

Towards the end of my journey back home from getting the car I noted that when pulling off I could feel a judder. I cant say the clutch is slipping or if its just the bite point is so far up that's causing the juddering, a small judder but noticeable?

I cant hear any noises from the engine bay when depressing/releasing the clutch pedal. How ever for a few minutes while driving though town, if I sat at the lights and then go to select first ready to move off I could hear I guess best describes a dragging sound (like a 'kuh kuh kuh kuh') sound and then when taking it out of 1st it would fade out, not go right away but literally fade after a second or two?

I'm yet to go though the paper work and view the history that I got with the vehicle to see if any clutch work has been carried out and what fluids have been changed.

Can anyone else add to this and offer me some advice on where to look first before condemning it to needing a new clutch kit please?

Check to see if the clutch has been uprated. The

early aygo clutches were notorious for being weak and failing.

A larger 190mm clutch was introduced in 2009 to replace the original 180mm clutch. The smaller sized clutch did suffer from slipping and noise. There was a Toyota Service Bulletin on this. If you're fitting a new clutch, make sure it is the 190mm clutch.

Thanks. I've checked the history and there doesn't seem to be any sign that the clutch has been changed or upgraded.

I thinking it's more than likely that the clutch is on it's way out.

Where do I get the updated clutch from please?
