Steering Wheel Lock Wouldn't Release

might be a one off problem but I was setting off from my mum's house to come home and I couldn't get the key to turn, so jiggled the steering wheel thinking the lock had engaged, but it seemed to take quite a lot of effort this time to get it to disengage and then the key suddenly turned.

Usually when I disengage the steering lock there is a little bit of give when pulling the wheel to the left but on that occasion it seemed very stiff.

Will keep an eye on it over the next few days but it was quite worrying.

What surface were you parked on..

I was perched on the edge of the pavement, two wheels on, two wheels off. Wheel was turned to the left so I wasn't surprised that the steering wheel lock was on, just annoyed when it didn't want to release lol. MMT transmission so parked as usual with handbrake on and I usually leave it in reverse as the manual instructs me to do for parking downhill.

it gets parked like this at least once a week give or take.
