Hello all. Can anyone help me with a problem I have with a rattle type vibration noise that has me stumped in my 2006 Rav4. With the engine running, vehicle stationary, steering on right lock , I hear a rattle type vibration noise around the front right wheel well. If I stand on the running rail right side , the noise disappears . Thanks. Kindest regards. Steven

Usual culprit for rattles is the exhaust - check that mountings and joints are secure. In particular there are a number of thin aluminium heat shields bolted to the underside of the car. The aluminium corrodes around the securing bolts and the shield then hangs loose or drops, sometimes making contact with the exhaust. Check the security of the aluminium shields as well as the plastic under-arch weather shields and the plastic shield mounted on the inner wing near the crankshaft pulley.
