Haven't found any topic specifically for the first generation Auris Hybrid, though there have been some issues with some second generation Auris and the Prius - see: http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/98172-how-long-to-flatten-aux-battery-without-trying/?hl=%2Bauxiliary+%2Bbattery#entry896495

Also from the Honest John review see the excerpt below from 'What's good/bad':

7-1-2012: If Auris HSDs are not driven distances regularly then the 12v auxiliary Battery gradually loses its capacity to hold a full charge. Owners are advised to consult their Toyota dealer and use a suitable trickle charger to keep the 12v Battery at full charge.

Thanks for that - yes I had heard about the issue with the later models ...... what a nonsense Toyota expecting owners to fiddle about with Battery chargers on a new car! :-{

  • 2 weeks later...

Took the car back to Mr T - well wife did - (her car) - concerned she might get a load of nonsense talk (Bull S..t) - but she held her ground and after a couple of hours they allegedly detected a few faulty cells in the aux. Battery by doing what the technician called a 'work around' backwards...? So they replaced the Battery under warranty. A good result and and it now starts fine ..... how long for? maybe another few years if we keep it that long. Don't take any crap about the car not being used enough every day ..... it was and in any event should not be an issue nowadays....
