Rav4 2003 Accessories

Hi all

I am looking at getting a front guard for our 2003 Rav4 with lower finishing chrome piece any ideas the best place to get these from, I am also looking at the side steps? any help would be appreciated :)

Although OEM kit from Mr.T is expensive, it is excellent quality. I've had OEM sidesteps on our previous two 4.2's and on our current 4.3. One useful thing about the OEM's is that they are more than strong enough to carry your weight when washing/waxing the roof or loading up roof boxes, etc. Quite a few of the after market kit is just rubbish, both in terms of finish and strength/durability. They also provide very good protection of the lower body sides from road grit, tar, mud, etc., especially when fitted along with the OEM mudflaps.

If you push the dealers a bit, it is possible to get some discount and I recall that on our 4.2's the local Toyota dealers always offered a "loyalty" discount due to the age of the cars - guess they want to keep them in the dealer system in order to maximise the chance of selling a new(er) car.

I'm planning on fitting the OEM front guard next.

Otherwise the OEM kit comes up on eBay occasionally.

I presume the 4.2 and 4.3 is the version of the Rav or am I being stupid :-/

Yes, the 4.2 ran from 1999-2006. The 4.3 was 2006 - 2013. The 4.4 is the current model that was released in Spring, 2013.
