Toyota Avensis Fuel System Fuse

I have a toyota avensis from 2002 where the fuse for the fuel system breaks very often when i try to start the car. If the car starts i can drive for hours but when i stop and start it it breaks (wont start). My mechanic says that it probably is the fuel pump but as i can drive for hours if i don't stop it seems unlikely. Do any of you have an idea what it could be? The fuse controls a couple of relays, for example the fuel injection relay. Would be very happy for some ideas!

Could be...starting currents for electric motors are quite high. Takes a lot more 'power' to get the motor running than it does to maintain its speed once running. If the bearings are getting iffy it could well be drawing more current than it is supposed to. Unfortunately, unless you can break the circuit to measure the current, the only way to be sure would be to replace the pump.

hi guys. I cannot seem to find this fuse. Just changed my fuel pump as the engine won't start and no fuel gets to the engine, and thought I'd check the fuse again (Tripple A checked the wrong one :( )
